Resolved Question: What should I charge for a "babysitting vacation"?
I have been asked to go on vacation for 4 days with 2 of my clients. They would pay airfare, food, and lodging. Each family has a 1 and 3 year old girl. I charge each $15/hr when watching both kids, and $11/hr for just 1 kid.
I am wondering what others have charged in this sort of situation, or what other parents have paid. Do I charge hourly, or a lump sum for the whole vacation? We have not worked out details of how much they would need me, but part of the time I would be "an extra set of hands" with one or two of the adults around. Other times I would have every 4 kids at once when their parents go out.
Do I charge my normal rate, or give a discount because they are providing everything, or charge a premium for being on hand at every times, even when I am "off duty"?
Thanks for any constructive input.

Resolved Question: Benefits of Working at an Airport?
I have an interview to be a PSA (personal service assistant) at an international airport close me....I was wondering what nice of benefits there are for people who work at the airport? I'd be part time (about 20hours a week) and make $10.00..
Does anyone know of any benefits? Such as: discounted airfare, discounted international travel, etc...
Thanks!
10pts ASAP
edit: I'd be working for ASIG so I guess that is an airline....

Resolved Question: What are some tips for an economical Florida vacation for myself and two of my Canadian friends?
I live in Georgia and my two best friends live in Toronto and Vancouver, BC. In the year 2013 we want to have a vacation together in Florida. I know that airfare is not likely something I can find a discount on, but I'd adore some opinions on how I might have a fun and economical stay in Florida.
The only thing we know for sure that we want to look is that Harry Potter world. The relax is every negotiable. I'd like tips about hotel stays, or if it's better to take a cruise, etc.
For additional information, my parents (Orlando residents) both have timeshare ownership at Orange Lake resort, which means that if we're there or nearby, we have access to those facilities for free, as well as discounts on their fee-based activities. I think they receive a modest discount for purchasing further vacation time there, too.
We three friends don't really have much money, but we're saving up now to make this possible. Please let us know any tips to have the most fun in Florida on a budget!

Resolved Question: Looking for discount airfare site that lets you pick based on time range, but with exact time & airline hidden?
I used a website sort of like priceline a few months ago to book a ticket. It offered more deeply discounted tickets than other travel sites, but you did not know which airline nor the exact time of the flight at purchase. It did however give you a time range for the flight, which is more preferable to the crapshoot that is priceline.
Does anyone know what this site is?

Resolved Question: Thoughts on our Wedding (Gay)?
Let me start off by saying money is NO issue. I don't mean to sound snooty or stuck up, because I'm not. My aunt recently died and left a substantial amount of money to me. Plus me and my partner have been saving up since we have been in a domestic partnership for 3 years.
Anyways, since New York passed the Gay Marriage Bill, me and my partner of 3 years will be getting officially married in October. I planned our wedding at a nice place and I just want some thoughts on the whole thing. Thanks...

Resolved Question: Is it true that one can buy last minute, deeply discounted airfare?
I keep hearing this over and over again. I have not located anything, nada ! ! I have even searched the "Deep Web,: (Invisible Internet; whatever). STILL, a big fat nothing. If these fares are truly availible; it would only be reasonable to make use of them. I'm trying to receive home to Phoenix, Arizona from Austin, Texas, tonight, Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
Any feedback folks?

Resolved Question: Desperately want to go to Italy in July?
My aunt is turning 90 this year and my family is having a big party for her. The problem is, our family construction company fell apart as with many others with this economy, and funds are obviously minimal. I have 3 kids also so this is costly to fly. The only benefit is we have accommodations and food is not a problem either. The cost is the airfare for 4 people. Any one know how to receive airfare at a discount? Or any other ideas?

Resolved Question: How come tour companies can be profitable?
I'm looking at this touring holiday deal: 26days Australia, Singapore for £3298. How arrive the company can profit from that price? The retail airfare is about £600, so if we take 2 days off for travelling in and out, that works out to be about £110 a day. How much discount on hotel and airfare do touring companies typically receive?

Resolved Question: What are the chances of getting my Schengen Visa Application denied?
Hi! I'm planning to go to Europe with my family early May of next year. My travel agent tells me that I can't file an application until 3 months before my date of my departure for Europe, however Qatar Airways is offering a great discount on their flights to Vienna on my intended travel dates.
Is it wise to purchase the tickets? I am a Philippine Passport holder, but we have an existing US Visa (multiple entry, 10-year visa and been to the States a couple of times) and a Chinese Visa. We've also been to several countries in Asia (ie China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand) Also, I'll be going on a Mediterranean Cruise, but I'll be taking a side trip in Austria before the cruise and Paris after the cruise. Not to brag but I'm fairly well-off, even in Western standards, and I have the means to support my travels. I can provide every the necessary requirements but I'm still afraid that I'd be denied with my visa and that my airfare won't be refunded since it's on a promo fare. Also, is it possible that not everyone in my family does personal appearance for the visa application? My son passed the Bar Examinations and is now a lawyer and I'd like to surprise him with the European tour, and if he'd have to appear before the embassy then it would really blow up the surprise. I'm just telling that we're just visiting to the States and not Europe.
So should I purchase the tickets? What are the chances of me getting denied on my visa application? Can I apply at the Spanish Consulate and not the Embassy? Can the consulate issue visa or should I go to the Embassy? Do we really need personal appearance?

Resolved Question: Can I establish Credit on those airline flyers credit cards if I don't have any credit to begin with?
I need to establish credit. I adore traveling so I was thinking about getting one of those airline credit cards or credit cards that build points to discount flights later on.
Of course I would try to use the card as little as possible so I can so whats needed into order to establish credit.. but if I can receive airfare deal I want to look into those cards vs. the little department store ones.
what do you think?

Resolved Question: Is there such thing as wholesale prices on airfare?
Few times I been to timeshare presentations where various so called "Travel Club" companies claim that they buy airfare wholesale and if I join, I can use much lower fares compared to what can be found on common airfare search websites. They claim that these fares are what travel agencies receive because they buy a lot of tickets upfront.
I am very skeptical. Let's say some company really gets 40% off the airfares. Why don't they just sell them to public at a discount on the website (like kayak)?
Is there really such thing as "wholesale airfare prices" or it's just a lie (I suspect it is) trying to receive money from people?

Resolved Question: Is there anywhere to get discounted cruises or all inclusive resort stays?
I'm looking up cruises or every inclusive resorts to go to with my boyfriend. I look on carnival.com "$199/person 5 day cruise!" But then you need to factor in that they charge around $75 a person in taxes plus I would need to pay for airfare. I live in NJ. There are plently of cruises out of NYC and Baltimore. But these are more expensive. I also found a 5 day one from Baltimore for $250 a person, but it would realistically add up to $600 a person with taxes, fuel fees, cost of liquor, excursions, cost to park car in Baltimore etc. I've heard that you can go to a travel agent last minute and sometimes find a cruise for really cheap, but I don't know if this is true. Is there any way I'm going to find a cruise or vacation package at a resort for around $300 a person?

Resolved Question: Where can I find cheap air and hotel?
My friends and I are planning to go to Europe after high school. We plan on going to Paris, London, and Nice. My pal has a place in Nice, so we're good there, but we are looking for cheap airfare and hotels. Does anyone know where I could find cheap flights? Or do you know of any discount hotels in the cities? Keep in mind that we're on a tight budget and that the trip wouldn't be for another year, so we have some time to work with. We're not picky about the hotels, we're just looking for a clean place to stay, with a toilet in the room, and preferably in the better neighborhoods of the city(doesn't have to be perfect, but not the slums).
Feel free to add any other tips?

Resolved Question: Should I cut ties with my mother?
About three years ago I moved back to the West coast from the East coast- my mom advised me that I could leave some boxes at her place- it's not a problem she said. Well ever since I moved back my job and some personal stuff has taken me every over the World. I've been going to Europe, etc. and every time I talk to my mom about this she ransoms these boxes saying that she'll set them on flame, or something stupid like that. She even said "If you have enough money to go to X then you can arrive here" she completely doesn't receive the fact that these are sometimes business trips and that the personal trips are usually on discount airfare - paying 80% less than market. I'm so sick of the way she treats me- her partner is an obnoxious alcoholic and my mom has become one as well. My bf despises her because she called his mom a whore... needless to say she is a strain on my life. Last year I visited her and she didn't say a word about these stupid boxes- I even told her if she could securely destroy them to go ahead and do that- but she said "no it's ok - it's not a bother" I just don't know what to do - she makes it so difficult to defend why I keep in contact with her. Also it probably doesn't help that she has not made any effort to keep regular contact with me and hasn't arrive to visit me once- what to do???

I'm leaving for the Army in 10 days. Resolved Question: What does it mean when someone disagrees just b/c it was your idea?
What does it mean when someone will purposefully find fault where there is none just because it was not their idea and or they did not discover it?
I ask this because both of my parents do this to me constantly. (I am in my early 20's mind you). My dad paid over $200 more for tickets because he didn't trust the discount airfare website that I gave him and wanted to go with his possess instead. I discovered chegg.com for textbooks and he had to find fault with everything because he had not discovered the website.
What does this mean?

I'm currently working a tiny job in the US, obligated to stay here until the lease on my apartment runs out on September 1st. Within a week of being free, I want to go and work in Australia. However, according to the Australian Government Department of Immigration and Citizenship, I must have proof of funds in order to obtain a working visa. Which is $5000AUS. Right now I've got about $200USD to my name, and the money I make working now in the US will be going to my monthly bills/rent of about $800USD. Optimistically, I might have $1000AUS by September. Would that be enough? I have sufficient documentation for every the other required materials, but the reason I wanted to go to Australia in the first place was to make money. But I'm afraid I won't be able to go until I make more here, which I don't think I can take much longer.
As far as costs go entering the country and supporting myself until I receive a job, I was planning on setting up a job well in advance, and since my dad is a pilot for an international airline, I have access to severely discounted airfare. I think $1000AUS would logically be enough. But would the visa people go for it?

Resolved Question: Calculus help. 10 points for help?
A study of the demand for air travel in Australia found that the demand for discount air travel from Sydney to Melbourne (in revenue passenger kilometre per capita, the product of the number of passengers traveling on a route and the distance of the route, divided by the populations of the host cities) depends on the airfare according to the equation.
q= 55.2 - 0.022p
A. Find the elasticity when the price is $166.10, the average discount airfare deflated by the consumer price index to 1989-1990 prices according to the authors study.
B. Is the demand for airfare elastic or inelastic at this price?
C. Find the price that maximizes revenue.

Resolved Question: Disney world/universal studio vacationing recommendations?
The lady and I are deciding to bounce around for the honeymoon at the end of this month. One cease is disney world and universal studios in florida for 5 days at the end of the month - oct. 23 - 28.
I'm looking for airfare, hotel, and park tickets to at least universal studios, magic kingdom, and epcot middle. If anyone has some solid recommendations for a couple who just wants to have a good time, it is well appreciated.
I'm looking for a nice hotel recommendation that offers shuttles to the parks mentioned, minimal with kids running around and is a nice place to spend for a good time for the 2 of us.
I also need info on a site to pick-up tickets for a good price and that is legit for the parks mentioned. Or at least any discount sites. Also any info on how much time is needed to check out a particular park is welcomed. and is it worth getting hopper passes, or line jumping passes?
Any additional info regarding perks or benifits is welcomend too.
And if there is any particular place we should visit or at least check out local to the area, mentioning it would be appreciated.
I've been getting ball park figures for the prices and it seems to be around 2000g's. Just want to look if anyone could recommend any discount sites, or at least a good bang for the buck. Thank you.
We would've loved to go out of the states, unfortunately our passports are not up to date. And i'm not willing to roll the dice in trying to shot gun the passports to head out and having to sacrifice the trips because there was a problem in getting the passports on time. Also, Disney is not the entire vaca. It's just a cease.
